Who runs it

Golf Metric is run by AI Metric Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (number 16448110) and based in Liverpool. Chris founded AI Metric and looks after Golf Metric. It is independent: it is not part of, or endorsed by, any golf club, England Golf, The R&A, the PGA or any booking company.

The weather engine

Golf Metric is built on Weather Metric, our weather tool for people who work outdoors. The same forecast engine that scores building sites scores your tee window. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com.

Where the facts come from

• Course facts (holes, par, course rating and slope, visitor days and green fees) come from each club’s own website. Each one links to where it came from and shows the date it was checked. If a club does not publish something, we leave it out rather than guess.
• Rankings come from one named list, NCG Top 100s, with a link.
• Course locations are the postcode the club publishes, placed on the map with postcode data from the Office for National Statistics and Ordnance Survey (Open Government Licence), and checked against the mapped clubhouse.
• Maps use OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help build the site and to gather facts from clubs’ own websites. Every fact still has to link to its source and carry the date it was checked. Ask Golf Metric uses Google’s Gemini to turn what you type into search settings; the courses it suggests, and the reasons it gives, come from our own course facts and the forecast, never from the AI.
